Design for the general guide for the Manifesta 9 biennial exhibition 'The Deep of the Modern'. The guide contains floorplans and overall guidance through the exhibition. It gives information about the artists and their work. Furthermore, the guide provides a lot of background information, about the curators, the original use of the building and the idea behind the different sections of the exhibition. The neighbourhood Poelenburg in Zaanstad is a problem area, a so called 'krachtwijk'. For some time now it's getting support of the government, and all sorts of renovation and social projects are being developed. The book is an image story about the changes taking place. The design is very 'democratic', I used all the content given to me, and every subject has a page.
